Click here to learn more Back to TopWhat is the deal with this new freon?New refrigerant blends are coming into the market to replace the old CFC gases these new products are varied in their performance and subject to a lot of media hype. Read more here to get the facts. Back to TopCan I just replace my out door unit?We have always recommended replacement of the air conditioning system rather than just one of the components. For maximum efficiency and reliability replacement of both the indoor and outdoor units at the same time is the best. Some times it is just not economically possible to replace the entire system. In that case or when part of the system is still in good condition it may be possible to do a partial replacement. Have your installer inspect and service the remaining piece of equipment. Back to TopWhat do you do when you clean and service my system? We keep things running properly by cleaning the indoor and outdoor coils with a special cleaning solution designed for air conditioning systems. The drain lines are also cleaned out at this time with either water pressure or suction. Once things are clean, we then check the operation of the equipment to make sure the electrical components are safe and working properly. We also gauge check the level of refrigerant in the system. If you have a used a service that does not clean your indoor coil then you are not going to get maximum life and efficiency from the equipment. Back to TopWhat is duct cleaning and do I need it?Over time dust and debris can collect in the air delivery duct system of our central air conditioner. In many cases this dirt does no harm what so ever, but occasionally it can become a problem needing to be removed from the duct work. As most duct systems are sealed, it often requires cutting into the duct to physically clean them. We have seen cleanings that caused more problems than the dirt that they tried to remove. Each system should be looked at closely to determine if cleaning is right for you. Back to TopWhat is the best way to bring in outside air? With homes being generally built better and tighter we often have a need to bring in ventilation during the cooling season when we never open the windows. A little positive pressure of fresh outside air is a good thing to bring into the home. But how do we do it with out bringing in humidity and dirt? There are a few ways we can do this, in commercial systems we use dedicated exhaust and make up air units. With residential system we use the Honeywell system. Author information goes here.
